however, the captain asked them to get off the ship.

jack made the mistake of going up to the deck, then he was swept up by the foamy water—and tossed overboard into the churning sea!
an octopus tentacle curled around jack and annie’s waist and lifted them above the water. he rescued jack and annie.
the giant octopus was tangled in a net. the captain wanted to kill it. the professor wanted to catch and study it alive. jack, annie, and henry asked them to free it.
jack wished that make them hear the truth with the wand of dianthus.
the octopus spoke to all. all heard the truth. jack, annie, and henry freed it.
